Amari'i can't wait for pre-season to begin in six weeks time

Fleetwood Town’s latest recruit, Amari’i Bell, has stated his delight upon signing a contract with the Cod Army.

The 21-year-old becomes Town’s second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Dec McManus from Aberdeen.

In his first interview with the Club website, the former Birmingham City man revealed that he can’t wait to get going at Highbury.

He said: “I’m excited to have signed a contract, and can’t wait to come back for pre-season and get started.

“I’ve heard a lot of good things about Fleetwood. I like the direction that the Club is going in, and I’m really impressed with it.

“The training ground is being built, I’m really impressed with that, so I’m going to be able to come here and develop as a better player and improve.

“From what I saw, when it is finished it looks like it will be really good, so I can’t wait to see it all done.

The Burton-born player spoke of his footballing experiences before his move to the Fylde Coast, which included loan spells at Swindon Town and Gillingham in the past few months.

“I was at West Bromwich Albion when I was young, after that I went to play for Solihull Moors, and got signed for Birmingham City from there. I have been out on-loan at a couple of clubs.

“Swindon Town was a good place to be, and they helped me a lot in my development, so it was really good.

“I know this level a bit more now after being at Swindon and Gillingham.

“I feel I can defend well, but also I can attack well, I like to do both sides of the game so hopefully I can come here and get a few goals.

Bell concluded his interview by giving Cod Army fans a taster of what they can expect from him over the coming season.

“I’m hoping to show them commitment and determination. I put my all into every game.”

Fleetwood Town's Club shop is open from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, so why not pick up a new home shirt, like the one Bell will be wearing. Call 01253 775080 for further information.
