Festival at the home of the Cod Army in July

The Angel Lounge has now teamed up with Fleetwood Town FC to host their summer Fylde ‘Feel-Good’ Festival at Highbury Stadium.

“We were looking for a venue at the northern end of the Fylde coast to host our summer event, when a contact suggested the football club. Having followed this up, we were delighted to discover the club offered an ideal combination of conference and event facilities to allow us to run the festival there along similar lines to the one we are running in Lytham,” says Andrew Cowgill, events director of the company. “And, we had had such a brilliant response from stallholders to our spring event - filling up over 80% of the pitches in less than three weeks – that it made sense to launch a summer event as quickly as possible and make the most of that momentum.” The Angel Lounge is now keen to attract local businesses and is looking forward to hearing from Fleetwood traders who might be interested in becoming involved.

For those who don’t know, the Festival itself combines the best in local and speciality foods, arts and crafts and holistic health and well-being and the team really hope that with continued local support it can become a regular feature of the Fylde events calendar.

The summer Festival is being held over the weekend of 17th, 18th and 19th July and, in addition to all the stalls, features on-site catering provided by local restaurants and outside caterers together with a fully licensed bar provided by the Club. It’s hoped that this combination will ensure that visitors can browse the stalls, sample the products and services and enjoy some light refreshments along the way. There will also be a series of free talks and demonstrations on each day of the festival and on Friday and Saturday evening a number of local bands to entertain the crowds.

The Football Club is similarly delighted to be hosting the event. Courtney Bushell, business development officer for Fleetwood Town says, “This festival is a new departure for us. It’s great to be able to utilise the club facilities out of season for such a large-scale project and also to support local businesses and the community which is something we are always proud to do. When The Angel Lounge approached us with their idea, we could see that there was a synergy between the values of the festival and those we want to promote ourselves. We very much hope the event will be a success not just for the organisers, stallholders and ourselves but also for Fleetwood and the surrounding area.”
