Boss responds to Hartlepool United cup draw

Manager Graham Alexander was pleased to see the Cod Army handed a home tie in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

Fleetwood Town will face League Two side Hartlepool United at home as the Club look to advance to the second round of the competition for the first time.

Alexander’s men last tackled the North East outfit back in January 2014, with goals from Jon Parkin and Alex Marrow sealing a 2-0 win as Fleetwood went on to win promotion via the League Two Play-Offs.

Hartlepool, now under the guidance of Ronnie Moore, had a season to remember in 2014/15 by retaining their Football League status.

Boss Graham Alexander said: “I am happy we are home in the first round. It is good for the supporters.

“It is always exciting to find out who your opponent is going to be in the cup. It brings into focus that the new season is not far away.

“Hartlepool United finished last season strong and I am sure it will be very good game when we play them in August.”

The 2015/16 League One fixtures will be revealed on Wednesday morning at 9am so remember to visit the Club website to check out the key dates for the Cod Army.
