Duo take on question and answer session at Poolfoot Farm

Fleetwood Town duo Eggert Jonsson and Keano Deacon made a community appearance on Friday afternoon at the football performance camps at Fuse Football.

The Icelandic international and Cod Army’s youth team prodigy, who have both been on the Club’s recent pre-season tour of Germany, held a question and answer session with the football mad youngsters.

The kids asked a number of interesting questions including quizzing Eggert about his career, which has spanned from Scotland to Portugal and back to British shores.

The football performance camps have been a huge success at Fuse Football this week, with numerous skill related training sessions taking place, focusing on all aspects of the game. For example, on Friday, the kids worked on their attacking play.

The sessions have been run by Fuse Football centre manager Mick Horsfall and Jason Sharp, the Club’s Community Trust Sports Development Officer.

The visit highlights the importance of the Club’s training ground to the local community, with the first team training only meters away from the football performance camp.

Jason Sharp said: “It was great for the children to meet the two players. It was Eggert’s and Keano’s first player appearance for Fleetwood Town and they both seemed to really enjoy interact with the children.

“It is great that our sessions at Fuse are at the same complex as the first team and it allows Fleetwood Town to interact with community on a brand new level.”
