The launch of Fuse Football...

Fleetwood Town Football Club has today announced that the first phase of the Club’s new exciting multi-million pound training complex is nearing completion.

The Poolfoot Farm training base, located in Thornton, will be the new home of football on the Fylde Coast with the launch of Fuse Football.

The full size 4G pitch, which FIFA have given an impressive two star rating, will house Fuse Football with the aim to be open to the general public by the end of February.

Fuse Football will cater for community use for schools, pitch hire, kids’ football, local leagues and tournaments plus much more.

Town Chairman, Andy Pilley, said: “We are proud that we are able to invite the local community to enjoy our fantastic facility that has been built at Poolfoot Farm.

“This really is second to none on the Fylde Coast and gives the general public an opportunity to use a professional set up that is used by footballers across the UK.”

The Club’s Chief Executive, Steve Curwood, is delighted to deliver positive news on a project he has been working on for the last few months.

“We have been working hard behind the scenes to get both the necessary approval in place for the first phase. We hope to update everyone on further progress and developments over the next few months.”

The Fuse Football centre will be managed by former Fleetwood Town youth team coach, Mick Horsfall. Mick has vast experience working in the sports industry and is keen to offer the local community the first opportunity to benefit from the brand new facility.

He said: “It will be a fantastic place to play football when complete. It will most definitely be the home of football on the Fylde Coast.

“The general public will be able to access the state of the art pitches for training, tournaments or to take part in competitive leagues in the evenings and weekends.

"We are keen to partner with a number of local schools who can use the facilities from Monday to Friday during day time hours.  Fleetwood Town Community Trust will also operate a number of their community activities from the centre.”

Fuse Football will launch their official website on Friday 16th January. For any enquiries, email enquiries@fusefootball.co.uk.
