Defender signs two year contract with the Club

Fleetwood Town’s new recruit Victor Nirennold is adamant that he has chosen the right Club to take his game to the next level.

The 24-year-old completed his move to the Cod Army on Friday afternoon after the Club received international clearance for the defender who moves from America.

Nirennold, who is originally from France, told the Club website that the likes of Youl Mawene and Chris Lucketti, both former centre backs, will play a pivotal role in his development as a professional footballer.

Set for next chapter, Nirennold said: “I went to college two years ago and I did one year in South Carolina and one year in Miami. I was playing as a forward initially and it was a great experience.

“My first priority was to study and complete my degree. My two previous clubs are FC Miami City and Lauderhill Lions.

“Football in America is getting big but it is not as crazy as it is over here. It is getting bigger and bigger but I wanted to come over here and play in England.

“I am from France. Before I went to America to study I played for Stade Rennais F.C. who are a big club in France. They currently play in the top division.

“Fleetwood Town is the best club for me. There is a really good atmosphere and as soon as I found out they were interested in me, I jumped at the chance to come over.

“I feel good and we are playing at a high level. The coaching we receive is first class. A few of the coaches have played in defence for a number of years and they are great people to learn off and help me improve.”
