Sky Bet make the Cod Army favourites against the Shrimpers

Fleetwood Town have been priced at 13/10 by Sky Bet to pick up an opening day win against Southend United on Saturday afternoon.

Phil Brown’s side are backed at 21/10 to come away from the Fylde Coast with victory after promotion to the third tier via the Play-Offs at Wembley in May. A draw is 9/4.

For a 1-0 home victory this weekend, supporters can get a price of 6/1 while a 3-0 win for Graham Alexander’s side is at 22/1.

Jamie Proctor netted on the opening day for Town last season, and is 11/2 to score once again this time around.

Named vice-captain earlier this week, midfielder Antoni Sarcevic is 15/2 to net the first goal in front of the home fans.

Having added experienced striker Noel Hunt to their ranks recently, Southend are priced at 14/1 to win 2-0 at Highbury.

Hunt himself has been backed at 13/2 to net the opening goal, and fellow new signing David Mooney from Leyton Orient is at 7/1.
