Cod Army aiming for third win on the bounce on SaturdayFleetwood Town manager Graham Alexander is aiming for a third successive win when he takes his side to Doncaster Rovers this weekend.
The Cod Army have beaten both Bury and Colchester United in recent games, and have scored a total of eight goals in the process.
He now wants his men to continue their good form in Yorkshire this weekend, but admits it’ll be a difficult test against Paul Dickov’s team.
Ahead of the weekend’s fixture, Alexander said: “It’s been a really good week for us after the disappointment the previous Saturday at Oldham Athletic.
“I couldn't have asked anymore from the players and they fully deserve what they've got. It is still early in the season though.
“It was pleasing to get a clean sheet as well against Colchester because that’s just as important as scoring goals.
“There’s a lot of players with smiles on their faces at the moment, and they have to work hard now to maintain that.
“It’s a case of can we do better at this while also maintaining all the good things that we’re doing. That’s what we were saying when we weren’t scoring too.
“Confidence is a big thing in football so if players feel good about themselves then it makes it better for us.
“We went to Doncaster last season and kept a clean sheet and picked up a valuable point which helped us finish in the top 10.
“It’s not really my concern what they made of it as it was a positive day for us. We want to go there again and get another positive result.
“If we maintain what we’ve done over the last four to five games then we pose a very good chance of doing that.
“We know they’ll be hurting from their last couple of results. I know Paul very well and he’s a fierce competitor.
“He wants his team to play like that so we know we’re in for a tough game.”
