Town's right back played the full 90 minutes in Athens
Conor McLaughlin’s Northern Ireland side made it three wins out of three on Tuesday evening as they beat former European Champions Greece in Athens.Goals in either half from Jamie Ward and Kyle Lafferty sealed a memorable win for the Irish, which sees them top of their qualifying group for France 2016.
They lead Romania in second place by two points after wins over Hungary and the Faroe Islands recently, and will travel to Bucharest next month for a crucial encounter.
Town right back McLaughlin has started every game for his country during what has so far been an extremely successful campaign for Michael O’Neill’s men.
He now flies back from Athens today and will join up with his Cod Army teammates later this week as they prepare to take on Doncaster Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
The Club would like to congratulate Conor on his continued success on the international stage and look forward to his return to Highbury.
