The goalkeeper's thoughts ahead of Monday's Play-Off final

Goalkeeper Chris Maxwell is looking to keep another clean sheet when Fleetwood Town travel to Wembley Stadium for the Sky Bet League 2 Play-Off Final on Monday.

The Cod Army remain the only of the 12 teams who entered this season’s Football League Play-Offs not to concede in the semi-finals.

Maxwell was on hand to shut out York City in both legs of the semi-final clash, and the 23-year-old now wants to keep a third clean sheet in a row against Burton Albion in the final.

“If we can get a third clean sheet then that will be magnificent,” said Maxwell.

“They’re going to be a tough outfit but we’ve played against them four times this season, so as long as we play well then we should be fine.”

The 23-year-old played at Wembley for Wrexham in the 2013 Conference Premier Play-Off Final, and he’s looking forward to playing under the arch once again.

“It’s going to be quite an occasion,” said Maxwell.

“It shows the ambition the club has got and how it’s going on leaps and bounds, so we want to carry that on and achieve promotion.

“To play at a venue that is known all over the world is incredible too, but we don’t want to get distracted from the fact that it’s one game, winner takes all.

“As long as we win then it will be a great one, otherwise it will be one we won’t want to remember.

“We need to make sure we focus on that and not where we’re playing. The lads know what the job is and we’re focused on it.”

Fleetwood Town supporters are reminded that they can purchase tickets on the day of the game at Wembley Stadium.
