Midfielder named League Two's Player of the Month

Fleetwood Town midfielder Josh Morris has been named the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month for April.

He gave tireless displays in a central role as Fleetwood clinched a Play-Off place.

He scored his first two career goals — a cleanly struck volley at Cheltenham Town and a low screamer against Wycombe Wanderers.

Fleetwood manager Graham Alexander said: “Josh has done great and he is a fantastic lad.

“He has got himself acquainted with the group quickly and he has shown his qualities from day one.

“He has great ability on the ball, he has great awareness about the game of football and he is a very good young professional footballer.

“We are really pleased to have him here and we thank Blackburn Rovers for that.”

Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman said: “Morris has had a fantastic month for Fleetwood as the team went unbeaten in April.

“Josh's winning goals against Cheltenham and Wycombe secured a Play-Off spot that gives Fleetwood a real chance of progressing to the next level.”

Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins said: “Morris has had a fantastic month for Fleetwood as the team went unbeaten in April.

“Morris’s winning goals against Cheltenham and Wycombe secured a Play-Off spot.”

The Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month Award went to Blackburn Rovers striker Rudy Gestede.

In Sky Bet League 1, Rotherham United’s Kieran Agard was named Sky Bet Player of the Month.

The Player of the Month judging panel comprises Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins.

Will Josh continue his excellent run of form in May and score the first goal against Chesterfield this weekend? He is priced at 16/1 to do so or 40/1 to score a brace. Fantastic odds not to be missed, click here
