Midfielder to Sixfields for one month
Matty Blair has joined Sky Bet League 2 Northampton Town on a one month loan deal.
The midfielder has been restricted to 19 appearances since arriving at Highbury from York City in the summer. Over half those appearances were from the bench and Blair has contributed 3 goals.
Northampton currently sit bottom of League 2 and face York City at home this weekend.
Andy King is currently in charge at Sixfields following Aidy Boothroyd’s dismissal just before Christmas.
Fleetwood Town manager Graham Alexander said Blair’s loan is to gain pitch time.
“Matty has gone to Northampton to gain match fitness. There haven’t been enough opportunities available to him at Highbury and I’m sure he will make the most of this challenge.”
