Proctor: We were frustrated not to build on first half display

Striker Jamie Proctor was left frustrated that Town failed to build on their first half display against the Sky Blues in the West Midlands today.

Proctor was a thorn in the Coventry defence during the opening 45, and caused Steven Pressley’s side problems with his power and pace.

Andy Webster’s own goal was cancelled out by a late Simeon Jackson equaliser, after the home side had pressured the Cod Army defence during the second half.

Proctor said: “It’s frustrating for us as players as we played some great stuff first half, and probably some of the best football we’ve played all season.

“Personally I felt great as the team were getting the ball up to me, and we were creating some good chances.

“To go in 1-0 up was fully deserved and I thought we could kick on and go and get three points, but Coventry changed it and came at us, and 1-1 was a fair in the end.

“In the second half it felt as if everything was going against us, but it wasn’t something we could do a lot about.

“For a Club like ours to come to Coventry and be disappointed at not getting all three points speaks volumes, and shows massive progress.

“I felt a little bit rusty and tired after the game and I think that’s down to not playing for a few weeks, but games will get me back to full fitness and I just want to play now.”
