Manager speaks about Jamille Matt, Adam Campbell and Stephen Dobbie

Graham Alexander has confirmed that striker Jamille Matt will miss the 2014/15 season after sustaining an injury in the 0-0 draw against Partick Thistle on Sunday.

In the same interview, the manager also discusses new signings Stephen Dobbie and Adam Campbell, with the Premier League duo both signing loan deals with the Club on Thursday afternoon.

He said: “We’ve brought two strikers in today in the form of Adam Campbell from Newcastle and Stephen Dobbie from Crystal Palace. They’re both with us on-loan, Adam for a month initially and Stephen for the season, which is fantastic news for us.”

“Unfortunately, Jamille picked up an injury in the last minute of last weekend’s game, and since then we’ve found out that we’ve probably lost him for the season.”

“It’s devastating news for Jamma first and foremost because he was looking really positive going into the season and we had really high hopes for him this year. I’m equally as devastated for him as well and so are the team because he was going to be a big player for us.”

“We have to get our heads around this disappointment and Jamille does too, but when he does come back I know he’ll be fit and strong and raring to go again.”

“We were looking to add another striker into the squad anyway, and we’d been working on the Stephen Dobbie one for a couple of weeks now while negotiating with Crystal Palace. We thank them for their co-operation and allowing Stephen to come to us, and we’re really pleased he’s here.”

“His quality is undoubted, and we just felt with the other young players we have that we needed a little bit more experience, and he gives us that.”

“Adam is a young striker who spent time on-loan at St. Mirren last year, and he’s someone who’s very highly regarded in the game. We’ve now got four or five strikers in the squad which we feel will strengthen that department”
