Loan striker available for Mansfield

Fleetwood Town media assistant and Derby County fan Tom Bestwick assesses Highbury's latest loan signing.

After making his name as a lethal striker at Wycombe Wanderers and Nottingham Forest, Fleetwood Town’s latest recruit signed for Derby County on a three-year deal, and in the process, turned down a number of other Championship clubs to stay in the East Midlands.

Although, it is hard to deny that the striker has been largely injury prone for the last couple of seasons, he proved to be a very useful impact player. The 31-year-old has pace to burn and can operate well both as a forward and a left winger.

After a difficult first season at Pride Park, again largely hampered by injury, Tyson began the second season with a bang as he scored two goals in two games, but due to other recruits being brought in over that summer, the striker could not maintain his starting spot – eventually finishing his last campaign with five goals in seventeen games.

When fit, he was a proven threat in the Championship, he is the kind of player who can get you off your seat as he terrorises the life out of defenders with his pace.

But for Blackpool’s good start to the season, he may very well have had more of a look in and his move to Fleetwood will have raised a few eye brows – purely because of the reason that he will prove to be a big threat in Sky Bet League 2.
