Fleetwood Town have captured a fourth summer signing with Jeff Hughes making the switch from League 1 Notts County.

The left-sided midfielder made just under 100 appearances for County in two season at Meadow Lane.  The midfielder, 29 next week, has also enjoyed lengthy spells at Bristol Rovers and Lincoln City where he regularly found his name on the score sheet. The former Northern Ireland international started his career with hometown club Larne where he played 47 games before moving to Sincil Bank. Hughes said coming to Highbury was an exciting prospect: "The idea of how Fleetwood plan to go forward was sold to me and it's an exciting prospect. The club has a vision with the training ground, the main ground and everything in general. “Overall, I was pleased with my two seasons at County. I'll bring that experience with some goals and a competitive edge from midfield.” Town boss Graham Alexander said: "Jeff has experience and knows how to score goals. He's hardworking and good on the ball. He's spent the few seasons in League 1 but knows all about our league." Hughes has signed a two-year contract and arrived as a free agent.
