The Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF), supporters of the Football Foundation, and the largest funder of non league football in the country, have announced a grant of just over £100,000 to Fleetwood Town.
This award enabled Fleetwood Town to build brand new toilet facilities for visiting supporters, a stadium first aid room and enhance safety features. The investment ensures the club complies with Football League regulations.
Steve Curwood, club chief executive, said “This grant has enabled Fleetwood Town to introduce and improve important facilities inside Highbury Stadium for home and away supporters. We are very grateful for the generosity of the Football Foundation in helping us complete this project.”
Funded with £6m each year from the Premier League, the FSIF is the country’s largest provider of grants towards projects that help improve the comfort and safety of lower league football grounds in both the professional and amateur game. These improvements range from new football stands and turnstiles to floodlighting and improved provision for disabled supporters.
