Mail Online takes positive look at Highbury Stadium

The Mail Online has taken a positive look at Highbury Stadium and the success Fleetwood Town and BES Utilities are bringing to the community. The article link is at the end of this club update.

The club are currently enjoying a second season in Football League and competing in Sky Bet League 2. Meanwhile, major club sponsor BES Utilities is introducing new jobs to the port as part of a £1.5m office development at Highbury.

Club chairman and managing director of BES Utilities Andy Pilley said his group of companies has already brought over 100 jobs to Highbury and are now increasing that number.

“We are coming to the end of our £1.5m extension of the Memorial Stand and this has created significant new office space. There will be 136 working positions above the new stand development and we are currently looking for an initial 40 new staff to work there.”

The managing director added the current vacancies exist in business administration, finance, credit control and sales.

“It’s good we are bucking the national trend in terms of job creation and its tremendous news for the local community, the town and the Fylde coast in general.”

The football club will also benefit from the expansion.

“The facilities in Jim’s Sports Bar will also be enhanced with a new diner and player’s bar.,” added Mr Pilley. “We are progressing on all fronts and long may it continue.”

The Group of companies supply electricity and gas and provides telecommunication services to commercial businesses.
