Highly-rated midfielder Brendan Wiredu joined the Cods from Sky Bet League Two side Colchester United, with Town having to fight off multiple League One and Championship sides for his signature.
Wiredu started his career at Charlton Athletic with a loan move to Bromley following that up before heading to The U’s, initially on loan in 2019.
