Wes Burns rejoined the Cod Army on a permanent deal in January 2017, after spending the 2015/16 season with the club on a one-year loan deal.
The attacker started his career in the youth setup at Bristol City, after he was unable to pick up an under-16s contract with Cardiff City.
Due to a rapid-rise through their system, he signed his first professional contract with the club in 2012 and made his debut when he came off the bench against Leeds United on 19 January 2013.
Whilst at Ashton Gate, he went on several loan spells starting with a short spell at Forest Green Rovers. After that, he had spells at Oxford United, Cheltenham Town, Fleetwood Town and Aberdeen.
City decided Burns was ready for the first team in the 2015/16 season, and earned 14 appearances for the club before being loaned out to Fleetwood.
The attacker has national credibility as well as he has featured in the Wales u21 side 18 times, scoring six goals in that time. Burns spent the first half of the 2016/17 season on loan at Aberdeen, before signing a three and a half year deal with Town in January 2017.
Burns has made 50 appearances for the Cod Army since his permanent move to the club in January, and became the first player to score against local rivals Blackpool since Jamie Vardy in the FA Cup at Highbury.
