Former Manchester City academy graduate Ched Evans signed for Fleetwood Town on a season-long loan deal ahead of the 2018/19 season.
The 29-year-old became Joey Barton’s eighth signing of the summer, with the Cod Army fighting off competition from a host of clubs for the Welshman’s signature.
After beginning his career at Manchester City, Evans signed for the Blades in 2009, and scored 42 goals in just 100 appearances at Bramall Lane. With successful spells at Norwich City, where he scored his first goal against Blackpool in 2007, and at Chesterfield, the striker then headed back to South Yorkshire last year.
The striker signed for Sheffield United for £3 million from Manchester City, and scored his first hat-trick for the club in 2012 within 15 minutes of being introduced into the game at Chestefield.
Evans has been capped 13 times by Wales, scoring on his senior debut in 2008 against Iceland.
