Elohor Godswill Ekpolo
Date of birth
Godswill Elohor Ekpolo made the move to Fleetwood Town from Barcelona B in November 2016, after completing a successful trial at the club.
Godswill moved to Spain back in 2001, from Nigeria, and began playing for a local team in Tarragona.
Barcelona signed him into their youth system at the age of ten and moved to the city when he was 15. The defender adapted his game as he was able to watch the first team games at Nou Camp and even got to train with the first team at 19, with the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.
The 22-year-old played in the reserve team and even managed to captain the under-21 side. An accolade he can take from his time at Barcelona was the UEFA Youth League trophy from the 2013/14 season.
He then moved away from Spain and after a trial at Wolverhampton Wanderers, he joined Fleetwood Town in November 2016. Godswill made his debut for the Fylde outfit back in November in an FA Cup fixture against Southport, which finished in a 0-0 stalemate at Merseyside Community Stadium.
Since then, he has made six appearances for the Cod Army.
