Jimmy Ryan signed for Fleetwood Town in the summer of 2015 from fellow League One Side Chesterfield.
The Merseyside-born midfielder started his career in the youth team at Liverpool, and was part of the side that won back-to-back FA Youth Cup’s in 2006 and 2007.
Ryan went on loan to Shrewsbury Town, whilst under contract with the Reds outfit before making the move to the Shropshire side permanent in 2008. After just four games at the club, he moved on to Accrington Stanley, following a successful trial at the Crown Ground. Ryan racked up 129 appearances in his three seasons at the club, netting a total of 22 goals in that time.
His performances didn’t go un-noticed as he was included in the League Two team of the year for 2010/11 as well as earning a place in the Republic of Ireland u21 squad.
In 2011, Ryan moved to Scunthorpe United and spent two years there, before moving to Chesterfield in the summer of 2013, where he helped them earn promotion to League One.
Ryan then joined Fleetwood in 2015 and instilled himself into the first team with dominant performances in the middle of the field.
