Town's Wrens reach the semi-finals

15 May 2024

It was only Fleetwood Town Wrens Development Squad who played at the weekend, and with a place in the Semi-Finals at stake, they had to get past Sir Tom Finney's down at UCLAN.

The ladies started off extremely well in the match, and they seemed to assert their dominance from the get go in the Quarter-Finals of the LFA Women's County League Senior Cup.

With great phases of play across the pitch it only seemed a matter of time before the Wrens got themselves into a lead. The ladies soon started to look more dangerous with every attack, and with chance after chance, that key moment came and it was well deserved.

Mollie Brown bagged herself a brace on the day, followed by brilliant goals from Ellie Duffy. Siobhan Fryer and Katie Ramsbottom got their names on the scoresheet.

The ladies ensured they took the win by being tight at the back and restricting their opponents to little chances. It was a class performance from all, with each player playing an important role in securing a place in the semi-finals!

The Development Squad are set to face Whitehaven AFC away on Sunday afternoon, with more details to be shared on the Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies social media pages.

Everybody at Fleetwood Town sends their good luck messages to you for this weekend's match.
