Burton Albion were in action on Tuesday night, and currently sit on nine points and one place above Fleetwood Town in the Sky Bet League One standings. In midweek, they beat Port Vale 3-2 at Vale Park, with three different goal scorers. Bez Lubala opened the scoring in the 11th minute, with Vale grabbing an equaliser just before half-time.

In the second half, Albion picked up the tempo and scored two goals within ten minutes. The first was scored by Steve Seddon with Kwadwo Baah bagging just after the hour mark. The hosts Vale did score four minute from time, but failed to gain a point on home soil.

Burton didn't have the best start to the season, failing to score any goals in their first three matches in all competitions. An opening day 2-0 defeat away at fellow Fylde Coast side Blackpool was followed by a 2-0 defeat to Leicester in the cup, and then a 3-0 defeat away at Derby County.

With chance now to claim out of the bottom four, Burton will be hoping to pick up their first home win of the new campaign, with Fleetwood - the visitors - looking for their first league victory of the season and second in all competitions.

Manager Lee Johnson spoke to the press on Thursday afternoon at Poolfoot Farm, and here’s what he had to say on the game this weekend:

"We know it's a tight pitch at Burton and I know how much of a role our supporters can play in the game by giving us that strength shooting towards them.

"Burton are a strong and physical side, who like to play direct, but like any side in this division, they have their weaknesses so it's up to us to capitalise on those on Saturday.

"Having had one game in charge, I am trying to focus the lads on the process and not the outcome. In this league, you can put three wins together quickly and when I was at Barnsley we were bottom of the league and then got promoted so it is possible from the position we are in.

"There are 117 points to play for and it's important that we as a group battle for every single one of those points."
