CHELTENHAM TOWN

The Robins have struggled this season, and with the recent run of results, they sacked their former manager Wade Elliott and named his replaced last week, Darrell Clarke - who fans may know from his time at Bristol Rovers. The 45-year-old  was most recently in charge at Port Vale and becomes Cheltenham's 12th permanent Football League manager.

Darrell enjoyed an 18-year playing career as a midfielder with the likes of Mansfield Town, Hartlepool United and Salisbury City before moving into management at the Wiltshire outfit The new Robins boss has signed a two-year-deal at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium.

When looking at their form, Cheltenham Town have yet to score a goal in the league after ten games played. The Robins opened their campaign with a 1-0 defeat away at Shrewsbury Town, followed by a 3-0 home defeat to Bolton Wanderers in the middle of August.

In the twelve games played (in all competitions), they have conceded 23 goals and have scored one - which was an own goal in the EFL Trophy encounter at Bristol Rovers. In their last game, Lincoln won 2-0 on home soil.

With a new manager in the dugout for the game against Fleetwood, will he be able to change their fortunes sooner rather than later?

WHAT THE MANAGER HAD TO SAY REGARDING THE GAME

Fleetwood Town boss spoke to the local press after Saturday’s win over Leyton Orient, saying he was pleased with the defensive side of the team, but also how happy he was that his side was clinical when chances came…

"I can't remember many big saves or chances that Lynch has had to make a decent save for, so I have no what-ifs about our defending side at all, I think Ben Heneghan has been fantastic for us and he's offered us some organisation at the back where it’s also great to have Josh Earl back because he's a big player, a top player at this level.

"All these moments like the players coming back from injury offer positive results just like today - you have to blend football teams, partnerships are really important, you could be old and have a mobility history but if you have someone young beside you it's a decent balance.

"Today we had some big players in the team, some left footers, sharp players and then we all know we are nowhere near finished, we're miles off where we can be, and we should see that really exciting moving forward because that is a positive for us."

On being clinical...

"They delivered some dangerous crosses and were dangerous in the wide areas but we managed to get our foot on it and protected our areas, we also countered well, there were two or three big opportunities as they threw caution to the wind on the counter-attack where the lads could definitely have finished them off because then I could have enjoyed that final ten minutes more than I did.

"They had some half chances today, once we started pressing and we got to the front foot that's when our qualities come out because there are some quality players in our dressing room."
