Fleetwood Town would like to acknowledge a number of incidents that occurred on the day of our Fylde Coast Derby against Blackpool FC at Highbury Stadium.
As Blackpool FC have reported on their website, we can confirm an FA investigation is currently underway, following reports of homophobic chanting identified within the stands at Highbury Stadium.
Fleetwood Town, alongside Blackpool FC, strongly condemn this unacceptable behaviour in the first instance, and this will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
CCTV footage will be reviewed as both Fleetwood Town and Blackpool work with the FA to ensure this kind of behaviour is eradicated from our game. Discrimination in any form will not be tolerated.
