Fleetwood Town’s Former Players Association were back on-site at Poolfoot Farm on Thursday morning this week for their monthly get-together and there were smiles all around!
In the usual fashion, the players all arrived just before 10am so they could grab a brew from the tea and coffee station, with Ang Hargreaves lovingly having them out to all the attending members, before Phil Brown and Stuart Murdoch kicked off the meeting.
A long-time member, Malcolm Clegg stood up in front of the group and gave a detailed insight into how his career went, from first breaking into the squads as a youngster, to the latter moments of his playing days – including his time at Fleetwood.
To make the meetings more interactive, photographer Peter Saunders hooked up his laptop to a TV during the meeting a played a slideshow of all the pictures he took at the meeting before, which seemed to be a welcome inclusion to the monthly meetings.
Phil Brown also stepped up during the get-together and took the reigns of ‘Quizmaster’ from Kevin Byrne, who couldn’t make the meeting on Thursday as he got every member involved in a Fleetwood Town-based quiz, with some general knowledge thrown in there as well.
Thanks to all the members who attended this meeting – it was great to see you once again – and we look forward to inviting you back to the training complex next month on Thursday 1 June between 10am and 12pm.
