Town boss Scott Brown surprises Community Trust at Highbury

Fleetwood Town Community Trust and their Sports College played on the hallow turf at Highbury Stadium, and were blessed with a special surprise from the gaffer himself.

With Fleetwood Town's first team off after a busy season, head coach Scott Brown was site and made a surprise visit to Highbury Stadium to watch the Community Trust play their annual group game on pitch before it gets dug up for the 2023/24 season.

With recruiting being pushed over the last few months, the upcoming students from Year 11 joined the current Year 12 & 13 students in a matchday experience game at Highbury.

The gaffer even got kitted up and tied his boots for the first time since retiring, and made an appearance off the bench to give those playing and involved a moment they would cherish for a long time.

Kerrie Burke, the Sports College Manager at the Community College, said: "This was a very successful event. It was a fantastic way of getting to know the students, but also for them to get to know their future tutors and teammates.

"I would like to thank everyone who attended, both students and parents, and we can’t wait to welcome you all to our amazing college in September."
