Fleetwood Town’s Under-18s are preparing themselves for yet more Youth Alliance action at the weekend as they travel to Greater Manchester to face Oldham Athletic on Saturday.

Mark Yeates’ side are still at the top end of the table, fighting for the title, and will have confidence going into this away clash after managing to beat Walsall 5-1 last week.

In that win, the young Cods started out well by breaking the deadlock eight minutes in through Zane Marsh before firing in a quickfire triple to go into the break four goals to the good.

After Mikey Lane converted a brace and Kyle King dispatched a free-kick, it was a chance to rotate the side in the second half and even after a cluster of changes, Marsh was able to complete his brace and put the game out of sight for the home side.

The Latics, who are unbeaten in three, will be ready for the game at the weekend at Chapel Road off the back of a 2-1 home win over Shrewsbury Town last week.

Good luck, lads!
