Stockley named March Player of the Month by the Cod Army

After yet another hectic month, with Fleetwood Town playing six games in just four weeks, we asked the Cod Army who they thought the March Player of the Month was and they chose forward Jayden Stockley.

The 29-year-old featured in five of the six games this month, only missing the Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round clash against Championship leaders Burnley due to being cup-tied this season, and was a standout throughout.

Stockley found the back of the net on three occasions in March, but will only see one added to his tally, as his wonder strike against Derby County has gone down as a Joe Wildsmith own goal and his close range opener against Lincoln City is an Adam Jackson own goal.

The one that will count for him has been up for plaudits since the weekend as it was the winner in a game that finished 2-1 against the Imps on Saturday - he dove low to get on the end of Phoenix Patterson’s whipped corner in order for Town to take the points.

Also nominated for this month’s award was captain Josh Vela, who performed on a consistent basis from the Burnley game to the Lincoln win, and forward Jack Marriott who found the back of the net against Port Vale and, unfortunately, had one wrongly chalked off against Derby County.

Congratulations on the award, Jayden!
