Sister club Waterford FC made it two wins from two over the bank holiday weekend with comfortable victories over Treaty United and Kerry FC with two Fleetwood loanees getting on the scoresheet.

Both Barry Baggley and Chris Conn-Clarke scored for the Blues over the weekend, with Conn-Clarke bagging the opener in Friday's 7-0 home win over Treaty United at the RSC. The young forward scored in the 16th minute before five other scorers got in on the action.

Two goals from Shane Griffin, and ones from Giles Phillips, Tunmise Sobowale, Ronan Coughlan and Thomas Oluwa made sure the bank holiday started off in style for Keith Long's men as they look to keep pressure on league leaders, Galway.

Baggley has been instrumental in the Blues side since joining on loan in January, and he got another goal when his team faced Kerry on Monday 5 June. The Northern Ireland national had to wait until the 90+1st minute to grab his goal, but it was star man Coughlan - who bagged his third hat-trick of the season (he did score four in the match), who stole the limelight on Monday.

Forward Roland Idowu opened the scoring in Kerry with a well worked finish, before Coughlan scored his four goals in the space of 41 minutes - taking his tally to 23 goals in just 14 starts, averaging a goal every 45 minutes.

Long's side still sit second in the League of Ireland First Division, but with these two wins, they've shown to Galway that they won't give up on the hunt for that top spot.

Waterford FC's next game is against Bray Wanderers down at the RSC on Friday 9 June 2023.

Fleetwood will be playing the Blues in July when they head over to the South Coast of Ireland for a week-long pre-season training camp. Find out the full details on how YOU can be part of the tour HERE!
