4 July 2023

Day three in Ireland had a bit of everything as the squad ticked off training sessions, team meetings, a bit of travel, and rounded it all off with a win on the road against Waterford FC.

The lads started the day with breakfast as normal before jumping on the coach which took them to the SETU Arena, where they would have yet another intense morning session that finished off with an attacking scenario drill.

When the players got back to The Tower hotel for lunch, we managed to pull defender Josh Earl aside to get his thoughts on how the tour has gone so far for him, his summer off, and how the return to training will benefit the squad this season – you can watch his interview here.

Later on in the day, as Waterford FC were holding a training session at the RSC, the players readied themselves for the first of two games in Ireland, which was against the Blues at their home stadium at 7pm.

The game was streamed live on their YouTube channel and viewers got to watch a five-star performance from Scott Brown’s side who won 5-1 on the night thanks to goals from Maleace Asamoah, Jayden Stockley, Ryan Broom, Kyle White, and Promise Omochere – you can read the report here.

After that, the squad then made their way back to the hotel for a well earned rest as they looked at the plans ahead of them for the rest of the week – day three then came to a close.
