Fleetwood Town’s Community Trust are always looking to improve the fan experience at Highbury Stadium, and they have just introduced their ‘Sensory Packs’ initiative which will run throughout the 2023/24 season.
The packs, which are kindly being sponsored by Wyre Borough Council, have been designed to help make the matchday experience a more enjoyable and inclusive one for anyone who may need them.
Multiple items have been added to each pack to ease the experience – each pack includes a soft stress ball, a pop-it toy, ear defenders, a light-up ball, a colouring book with pencils, and a map of Highbury Stadium.
The packs will be available free of charge to supporters with additional needs and can be collected from the Community Trust’s Stand in the Highbury Stand car park before kick-off. Each sensory pack must be purchased via the Trust’s website – click HERE.
John Hartley, CEO at Fleetwood Town Community Trust, explained: “We are continuously striving to improve our match day experience and ensuring that every single supporter feels welcomed and comfortable is imperative.
“Football should be inclusive for all; we are making great steps in ensuring there are no restrictions to fans accessing Highbury Stadium and cheering on the Cod Army!”
