Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies First Team were in action over the weekend, but narrowly missed out on a point after a 1-0 defeat at Curzon Ashton Women.

The Wrens Ladies made the trip to Greater Manchester on Sunday 15 January for a 3pm kick-off at the Co-Op Academy in their North West Womens Regional Football League Premier Division clash.

It was a tight affair from the first whistle to the last at the Co-Op Academy, with Holly Hunter and Ellie Parkinson being two players who stood out for their performances in the match, with Parkinson claiming the Player of the Match award.

The hosts took the game 1-0 after 90 minutes thanks to a solid header from Bleasdale, but it wasn't for the lack of trying for the Fleetwood Town Ladies - who created many opportunities on the day to take at least a point home with them.

The Wrens Ladies Reserves were meant to play against Hindley Junior Womens side on Sunday in the LFA Womens Challenge Cup, but the match was postponed due to an unplayable pitch. This match will be rescheduled in due course.
