Fleetwood Town midfielder Brendan Wiredu claimed the first Player of the Month award for the month of December, as voted for by the fans.
Wiredu - who joined Town in the summer from League Two side, Colchester United, has been ever-present in Scott Brown's side this campaign, and with his recent performances, supporters on Instagram were quick to vote for him as their Player of the Month.
The 23-year-old featured in three of Town's four games in the month of December, with majority of them being played in a new role in the heart of the defence.
In Fleetwood's 2-1 win away at MK Dons on Saturday 10 December 2022, Wiredu got the all-important assist for Dan Batty whose 25-yard strike was the difference the Stadium:MK.
Carl Johnston and Josh Vela were the other two players in the run-in for December's Player of the Month. Johnston scored his first goal for the club in the MK Dons match, with Vela being the rock in midfield, putting in performances throughout the month.
