Fleetwood Town's latest signing Scott Robertson spoke to the club following the midfielder putting pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal with the League One side.
The Cods had to fight off teams throughout the Football League pyramid for the signature of the 21-year-old, who has already managed to accrue more than 50 professional appearances in his career, including one in the Europa League for the Scottish champions against CFR Cluj.
After reuniting with head coach Scott Brown, here's what the young midfielder had to say:
“I am really pleased to be here, and I just can’t wait to get games under my belt.
“With the connection of Celtic and Scott Brown, he played a big part in me coming to Fleetwood. When I first spoke to him, it was positive, we got on and it was just a matter of getting the deal done.
“It was a big reason for me coming here, they have a very good training ground and the club have a good little stadium. The manager was a big call but there’s more aspects here.
On the current squad and what he can bring...
“The squad is full of quality and comes with that is the ambition and it’s a group who doesn’t want to just stay in League One, the chairman wants to push up the leagues and hopefully I can help with that.
“The squad in general have welcomed me in, but I have created a bond already with Shaun Rooney. He has taken me under his wing and with us both being Celtic fans, well him being a bigger fan, I just haven’t met anyone like him.
On his time at Celtic and his previous loan spells in the EFL...
“Celtic are a big club in Scotland and having been there for the last 14 years, it will only help me in my career as I make the step here at Fleetwood.
“Also, with my previous loans, I feel each loan have brought me something different and it’s all good experience.
“I know this league. I think with the loans they have all gave me different challenges and they’ve all kept me in good stead.”
