Three of the Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies teams were in action at the weekend and here is a round-up of how they did in their respective fixtures.

FIRST TEAM

Tranmere Rovers Women 0-1 Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies

The first team travelled to Ellesmere Port Sports Village on Sunday to take on a tough opposition in Tranmere Rovers, and what a performance the Ladies put on throughout the afternoon. Emily Jones found the back of the net to score the all-important goal in the fixture, and the defence stayed stern from start to finish to ensure the clean sheet would remain intact – well done, Ladies!

Town squad: O’Neill, Scanlan, C.Parkinson, Cardwell, Hendry, Hunter, Sarsfield, Carmichael, Crawshaw, E.Slater, Woods, Jones, S.Slater, E.Parkinson, Warbrick.

Goal scorer(s): Emily Jones.

Player(s) of the Match: Emily Jones.

RESERVES

Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Reserves 1-3 Hindley Juniors

It was a special cup weekend for the Reserves as they faced Hindley in the quarter-finals of the LFA Challenge Cup, but it didn’t go the way they were dreaming of the night before. It was a frustrating defeat on the day as they managed to find the net through a Lydia Wright strike, but struggled to score anymore even after dominating the game – all the best to Hindley in the semi-finals.

Town squad: Thompson, Cook, Allan, Mullender, Frankle, Richmond, Brandes, Wilcock, Hodken, Aitken, Stritch, Wright, McCarthy, Gregory, Daniel.

Goal scorer(s): Lydia Wright.

Player(s) of the Match: Lou Allen.

DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

Bolton County 3-2 Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Development Squad

It was a tough afternoon for the Development Squad as they fell to a 3-2 defeat to Bolton County in the LFA Women’s County League Championship at the weekend. In the away fixture, the ladies looked to have worked their way to a well-earned point, but it wasn’t to be as the home side managed to edge the result and keep all the spoils in Bolton.

Town squad: McLaren, Holden, Fryer, Ramsbottom, Hague, Parker, Baines, O’Neill, Crook, Smith, Cattle, Hardman, Brooks, Jones.

Goal scorer(s): Lauren Hardman and Katie Ramsbottom.

Player(s) of the Match: Sophie Hague.
