Fleetwood Town can confirm Waterford FC forward Junior Quitirna has joined the club and will immediately head out on loan to National League side Altrincham until the end of the season.
Quitirna, 22, was a crucial part of Waterford’s success last season and earned a spot in the League of Ireland First Division Team of the Year after helping guide the Blues to a promotion play-off final against UCD back in November.
Over the last two seasons in Ireland, Junior made 55 appearances for the Blues, scoring 20 goals and assisting 12 in the process, but due to issues in relation to his status in the country, the forward has made the move to England whilst those issues are being resolved.
The young forward will immediately join National League side Altrincham on loan until the end of the season, a club which helped Waterford loanee Barry Baggley progress his career, as well as helping Chris Conn-Clarke earn a new long-term deal with the Cods after his consistent performances in Greater Manchester.
Welcome Junior and good luck at the J.Davidson Stadium!
