Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce the signing of highly sought-after goalkeeper David Harrington from Irish side Cork City for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old, who was named in the League of Ireland Team of the Year alongside Phoenix Patterson, is widely known as one of the best young prospects to come over the Irish Sea and managed to feature on a regular basis between the sticks for the league-winning Cork City side.
Harrington caught the eyes of plenty of teams in England, including sides from both the Premier League and the Championship, after keeping 17 clean sheets in just 33 games and he has now committed his future to Fleetwood as he’s signed a long-term deal until the summer of 2026.
Town’s latest signing is currently carrying a shoulder injury, which he sustained at the back end of the League of Ireland First Division season and will spend time with the medical team at the Club to ensure a speedy recovery.
Welcome to the Cods, David!
