Fleetwood Town's Former Players Association met up at Poolfoot Farm on Thursday for their monthly meeting, and it was one where all in attendance paid their respects to the late Ron Bellwood.
In the first Former Players meeting of the New Year, it started off in the usual fashion as all the members gathered around FPA Secretary Phil Brown who mentioned all the events that are coming up for the ex-players to get involved in.
Last week, the oldest member of the FPA sadly passed away at the age of 92. Those in attendance gave a minutes applause for their former teammate, and most importantly, a friend.
This month, those in attendance took part in an interactive quiz, with Phil Brown remaining quizmaster after taking over from Kevin Byrne a few months ago. With names from the past mentioned, it was a fantastic talking point for the whole group, who reminisced back in the days.
The former Secretary of the FPA, Tony Collier, was also present at this meeting. He wanted to pay his respects to Ron as well as meet some of the faces he hasn't seen for a long time due to his work away from Fleetwood.
The FPA would like to thank everyone who attended the meeting. We are looking forward to seeing you all at Poolfoot Farm once again on Thursday 2 February 2023 at 10am.
