Head coach Scott Brown spoke to local press after Fleetwood Town made it through to the Fourth Round of the Emirates FA Cup for the first ever time via a 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers.

Goals from Brendan Wiredu and Promise Omochere were enough to see the Cods through to the Fourth Round of the Emirates FA Cup for the first time in their history, even after a Sam Field opener for the visitors.

Here what the gaffer had to say after the game:

On the overall performances from the game...

“First of all, I thought the lads were exceptional today. We knew we were playing against a top-quality side. It was always going to be a tough game and be a battle as well.”

"For us, the two lads at the back were great, also the two wingers as well. There was a lot on our full-backs to defend their sides today, but I thought they did that exceptionally well.”

On making it to the Fourth Round of the competition...

“For me as a manager, it’s exceptional; my playing days are gone but these lads are leaving a legacy. It’s great to get to the Fourth Round, we could get one of the big boys.”

“We want to make it extremely hard to come here. It’s what we’ve wanted to do all season. We need to start doing this week in and week out now; it’s what we expect, we have been playing some good football recently.”
