Fleetwood Town's Under-18s drew 2-2 against Port Vale in a Youth Alliance League clash down at Poolfoot Farm.

A late goal from forward Sam Glenfield salvaged a point for Fleetwood Town's Under-18s last Saturday as both Town and Vale shared the points at Poolfoot Farm.

The visitors took the lead 38 minutes into the match, despite a dominant performance from the team in red and white.

After a talk from the new head coach, Mark Yeates at half-time, Mikey Lane got the young Cods back level ten minutes into the second half with a nice finish past the Valiant keeper.

Port Vale did go back ahead with just over 20 minutes left on the clock, but it was Glenfield's 90th-minute strike that salvaged a point for Yeates' side with a well-taken effort to break the away teams' hearts.

The Cod Army deserved more from the game with the number of chances created. It wasn't to be in terms of the three points, but the performance was a pleasing aspect for the coaching staff.

Town XI: Trialist (GK), Khela, Arthur, Hughes, Johnson, King, Richmond, Namputu, Lane, Glenfield, Roberts.
