Four Fleetwood Town players were in action over the weekend for their respective loan clubs, with one of them heading to Dubai on tour and the other scoring another for his side.

It was some week for Barry Baggley as his time at our sister club, Waterford FC, started with a bang as he joined the side on their week-long pre-season training camp in Dubai. As well as training all week, he also featured in a game out there which ended in a 5-2 win over local side The Green Herons, playing 54 minutes in that one.

The hard work continued in the heat of the Middle East, but he had to miss out on the game later on in the week due to a slight injury from training. That game against another sister club of ours, Fleetwood United, somehow managed to get postponed due to a waterlogged pitch in the middle of the desert – you couldn’t write it – but Waterford were up when the game was called off.

Young forward Will Russ found himself on the score sheet once again for Hyde United as he latched onto Jack Redshaw's pass inside the area and calmly finished into the bottom corner to cancel out an early penalty for the hosts. Redshaw put the side from Manchester up at the break, and Russ almost got in on the act once again, but his header from close range went just wide.

The second half was more of the same, with Redshaw doubling his tally in the game and Hyde’s lead at the same time midway through the half. Guiseley did pull one back late on in the clash, but it wasn’t enough to cause an upset as Russ and his side walked away from Nethermoor Park with all three points.

Both Tom Hoyle and Tom Donaghy played 90 minutes in Colne’s league fixture against Macclesfield on Saturday, but that one didn’t end up going their way as they lost the clash 4-2 on the afternoon. Enock Luisama and Lucas Weaver both scored for the Lancashire side, but it was defeat at the Stadium.
