FLEETWOOD TOWN

The Cod Army come into this game on the back of making history once again this season in the Emirates FA Cup. After beating Queens Park Rangers in the Third Round, it set up a tie against fellow League One side, Sheffield Wednesday. After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Town were victorious in the replay at Highbury, coming away 1-0 winners thanks to a looping head from Carlos Mendes Gomes.

The mood in the camp changed dramatically on Tuesday, and now with putting the disappointment behind from last Saturday's game against Burton Albion, Scott Brown's men need to keep looking up after the performance against the league leaders.

Town's last away win came back on New Years Day with their 3-0 defeat at Shrewsbury Town. Goals from Admiral Muskwe, Promise Omochere & 'Josh Vela' secured the points on the day. Can the Cod Army pick up only their second away win of the calendar year?

Jayden Stockley could make a return to The Valley after moving from the Addicks late in the January transfer window. He spoke to the club on Thursday afternoon to preview the match - supporters can watch it in full on the club's iFollow page!

CHARLTON ATHLETIC

Charlton have won four out of their last six matches, and have seen themsevles climb up the League One table after a tricky run of form in the middle of the season.

The last win was on the road away at Exeter, where the Addicks came away victorious following a 2-1 win. Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Corey Taylor scored early on before the hosts got one back but they held on for a vital win away from home.

In their last win at The Valley, Tyreece Campbell and Rak-Sakyi scored the two goals that defeated high-flyers Barnsley - they will be hoping to get back to winning ways after losing out to Bolton Wanderers.

“The confidence from the win on Tuesday will help us at the weekend, and we know from then on, there will be a focus on game after game and see where we can pick up some points in the coming weeks. We’ve done well against the teams above us in the league so far, we went to Ipswich and picked up a point and went on to win away at Peterborough.

“I thought we’d be stronger at home than we would have been away, but that hasn’t been the case. This is a strength that we are hoping will continue so the players shouldn’t be fazed by going to a club like Charlton as we will have our game plan, and the style we want to play, so let's see whether we can implement those and take the points on the day.

“We’re closer to the bottom than we would have liked, and we would have liked to have earned a lot more points than we have done so far this season. There have been games where we have played well but haven’t taken the points that we deserved and I think that has caught up with us a bit – we need to get vital points by performing well and we want that on Saturday.”

Report: Holgate's header came up trumps as Town beat Charlton

Fleetwood Town made it two wins in a week at The Valley as they came out on top in their 2-1 win over Charlton Athletic on Saturday afternoon.

A barnstorming opening goal from Shaun Rooney kicked off the tie midway through the first half, with an equaliser coming just before the break by Jes Rak-Sakyi. The game was decided though from an unlikely source as Harrison Holgate headed home from a corner to win the tie in London.

The hosts started the game at The Valley the better side as they grew into the game straight away after kick-off, Town weren’t helped though on the afternoon as captain Danny Andrew had to be replaced by Rooney after he went down with an injury nine minutes in.

Supporters had to wait 23 minutes for the first chance to come and it fell to Fleetwood as Rooney crossed the ball into Scott Robertson, whose effort went over the bar. Another one came soon after as Jayden Stockley got on the end of Phoenix Patterson’s cross but headed wide of the mark.

A couple of minutes later, Charlton had a chance of their own as Corey Blackett-Taylor played a cross in from the left towards the head of Rak-Sakyi, but his header goes wide of the mark and is easily cleared away by Harrison Holgate and the Town backline.

Sometimes you can’t plan on certain moments and the opening goal came from out of nowhere. After a cross was cleared by the home defence, Rooney decided to take on a half-volley from 25 yards, with the strike flying straight into the top-right corner of the goal to make it 1-0.

The hosts grew back into the game though and after chances from George Dobson and Scott Fraser went over the crossbar, Sean Clare picked out Rak-Sakyi who went on a brilliant solo run before curling his strike past the keeper and into the side-netting to level it up seconds before the break.

At the start of the second half, Scott Brown’s men came out to play and they did, with Phoenix Patterson forcing a low save from the Charlton keeper, pushing the ball out for a corner. A goal came from the resulting set-piece as Holgate nodded it home to give Town the lead in the 52^nd minute.

The next chance would come 15 minutes later, after a flurry of substitutions for both sides, as Chuks Aneke worked a yard of space inside the Fleetwood box and struck the ball towards goal, but it was an easy save for Lynch between the sticks.

A big decision had to be made by the referee with 10 minutes to go as two substitutes in Promise Omochere and Cian Hayes link up well on a counter, with the latter being taken down by Ryan Inniss just outside the box – the Charlton defender was shown a red card for the challenge.

With 12 long minutes added on at the end, it was a slog for the Cods to finish the game out, but they managed the injury time well. Harvey Macadam saw his shot in the 95^th minute blocked well and then, after a quick throw-in to Omochere, he picked out Hayes whose shot was also blocked.

Back the lads in London this weekend

Fleetwood Town will make the trip to the capital on Saturday afternoon to face Charlton Athletic in a Sky Bet League One clash at The Valley.

Town will face the Addicks on Saturday 11 February before heading to Home Park to test themselves against high-flying Argyle on Saturday 18 February - both games kick-off at 3pm.

Following the club making history on Tuesday night by beating high-flying Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at home in the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round replay, all eyes are now on the league fixture.

Here are the ticket and travel details you need to know:

The Cod Army have been allocated seats in The South Stand, with ticket prices as follows:

Adults: £23, Seniors (65+): £21, Under-21s: £21, Students: £18, Under-18s: £14, Under-11s: £6

Tickets will go off sale at Highbury on Fridat 10 February at 4:30pm. They will be available on the day of the game from the South stand ticket office, with an increase of £3 per ticket. Fans will only be able to pay by card.

Coaches will be departing Highbury Stadium at 6:30am, costing only £5 for all Onward Card Holders and £15 for Non-Onward Card Holders.
