It was a great day for the local community on Thursday as six first-team players ventured out into the surrounding areas looking to support out Community Trust’s half-term sports camps!
With the feelings on a high after winning the last three games in all competitions, the players wanted to carry on that feel-good factor with the supporters as they went out and took part in a variety of sports in Thornton, Fleetwood, Poulton, and Preesall.
The day started off with both Brendan Wiredu and Phoenix Patterson heading down to the 5-a-side pitches at Poolfoot Farm after training to join in the football camp down there, with Lewis Warrington getting involved with the fun and games at Carleton Green.
Goal scorer Promise Omochere and new defender Corrie Ndaba headed off to Fleetwood-based school Shakespeare Primary and they were thrown straight into a multi-sports session with the children before answering a few questions in a Q&A session soon after.
Finally, young defender Connor Teale made his way over Wyre to Fleetwood Charity in Preesall for an archery session with the local children and had a great time, participating in the session, as well as helping the kids with their bow-and-arrow skills throughout the afternoon.
It was a brilliant afternoon in the community – here’s to doing it all over again soon!
