Captain Josh Vela and Shaun Rooney have been out in the community this week as they showed their support for Children’s Mental Health Week at a local primary school.
The first-team duo visited Larkholme Primary School to take part in a question-and-answer session, whilst also getting involved in the practical side of the lessons they went into.
The pupils asked Josh and Shaun about obstacles he has faced in their lives and careers and how he overcame them. At their age, not getting their own way, or losing in games and sport, can be more difficult to accept for some more than others.
Liam was asked how he learned to deal with his emotions if he made a mistake in a game, and how do you manage your emotions walking on to the pitch in a big game, was another question linking to mental health.
After the question session, the players stayed in the class and took pictures with the students, as well as signing autographs for them – which were in high-demand on the day!
