Fleetwood Town face Northampton Town on Saturday 9 December at Sixfields Stadium in Sky Bet League One, and in this preview we have all you need to know ahead of the 3pm kick-off.

Fixture: Northampton Town vs Fleetwood Town

Competition: Sky Bet League One

Date: Saturday 9 December 2023

Kick-off: 3pm

Venue: Sixfields Stadium

Northampton Town currently sit 13th in Sky Bet League One and come into this match against Fleetwood on the back of three wins in their last five matches. The Cobblers beat Burton and Cambridge on home soil, and managed to pick up all three points on the road at Blackpool on Tuesday 28 November at Bloomfield Road. Kieron Bowie opened the scoring before the Seasiders' Jordan Rhodes scored the equaliser, but it was their main man Sam Hoskins who scored 15 minutes from time to gain valuable points.

Hoskins was named the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month for November. When Hoskins flows, so do Northampton. He scored three goals – two of them winners – and added an assist in three games. A natural leader for his side, his intuition and anticipation allows him to make converting chances look easy. He will be the one to watch for the Cod Army on Saturday afternoon.

Akin Odimayo is available again for Northampton this weekend after completing his suspension after accumulating five bookings this season. Jon Guthrie and Louis Appéré are both in contention to start this weekends fixture but the visit from Fleetwood Town comes to soon for goalkeeper Lee Burge.
