FLEETWOOD TOWN

Fleetwood Town make the short journey to Bolton on Tuesday night as they face Bolton Wanderers in Sky Bet League One action. Town are relishing the fact the fixture is just around the corner from last Saturday as head coach Scott Brown and his men believe it’s a perfect opportunity to make things right after a disappointing 2-0 loss to Cambridge United in Fleetwood’s first home game of the season.

After taking full responsibility for the defeat against Cambridge, Brown is hopeful that his lads don’t want to taste defeat again so soon, Cod Army fans will be hoping that Fleetwood can show the same grit and determination that they showed on the opening day of the season against Carlisle to get a result against a Bolton side - who are in fine-form which Town will be aware of and will hope to utilise all their bounce-back-ability to produce a better display than last time out.

With only one goal scored so far in the league season, the Cods will be looking to improve on their ruthlessness in the final third – players like Cian Hayes and Pheonix Patterson have looked bright in previous appearances on the flanks, however, the floodgates haven’t quite opened yet, but with proven goal scorers in the ranks in this division, Brown believes the ingredients are there for results to improve in attacking positions.

BOLTON WANDERERS

Bolton have started this campaign as perfectly as they could have hoped – with two games played, two games won – Wanderers have scored six goals in the process and are yet to concede as they sit top of the table – in and around the places where they aim to be at the end of the season.

Ian Evatt’s men are looking to go one better than last season’s campaign at the ToughSheet Community Stadium as they finished fifth but weren’t successful in the Play-Offs. Wanderers were however successful in another way as they cruised to silverware as they defeated Plymouth Argyle 4-0 in the Papa Johns Trophy final at Wembley – intentions this year will be to gain promotion out of Sky Bet League One.

With a 3-0 away win against Cheltenham Town last weekend, and a 3-0 win on the opening day against Lincoln - Tuesday’s hosts are no strangers to finding the back of the net – Dion Charles opened his account against Cheltenham with a brace; a striker who will be a handful for League One defenders this campaign, and someone Town’s backline will need to keep quiet to lay the foundations going forward.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES: SCOTT BROWN

“For us, we all take it on the chin we’ll all take responsibility. When it’s a good performance by all means we’ll all take credit for it, but when it’s a poor performance we’ve all got to accept responsibility.

“We need to learn from that and take full responsibility from today. You have to have that desire, and you have to have that work rate to make sure that you outrun your opponent and sometimes it's as simple as that.

“Sometimes You’ve got to look yourself in the mirror and realise what you’re doing wrong. That’s when you find out the men in the changing room. They’re a great bunch of lads, but today’s performance from start to finish was nowhere near the quality that we want.”
