Fleetwood Town can confirm the signing of Jack Doherty for the Under-18s on a two-year scholarship from League of Ireland outfit, Derry City FC.
Jack Doherty, no relation to fellow incoming scholar Jake, has signed from League of Ireland side, Derry City FC.
A Derry native, Jack has progressed through the full system at Derry City and played Under-19s level as a 15-year-old. Like Conor, Jack has also represented Northern Ireland, and also captained them in the same Victory Shield tournament.
A box to box midfielder, Jack brings lots of energy to the game and possesses a good knowledge of the game, both in and out of possession. Upon signing for Fleetwood Town he’ll be looking to impact the Under-18s side on a regular basis.
Head of Academy, Jack Higgins said he is very delighted to have Jack on board as well as fellow countryman Conor Haughey.
